About HSS

Philip and Amanda met singing in Wagner’s Das Rheingold and were married two and a half years later. Now they have the voices of two young children to join in as well!

They developed Haslemere Singing Studio from a desire to teach classical singing style to a high level to keen and interested students who have a desire to perform. From there they’ve gone on to build Imagine That Productions to give singers in the local area opportunities to use their talents on stage. They also now provide presentation skills coaching to businesses and individuals.

Haslemere Singing Studio offers lessons to all singers from the age of 7 upwards. Our students now cover the full range: young children just starting out | student college and conservatoire preparation | amateur choral singers | returning singers | semi-professionals | singers returning after a pro career | advanced children with potential | members of local performing theatre and music groups | students wishing to build confidence in their singing | singers wanting technical help and voice development.

Exams

We enter our students into ABRSM and Trinity singing exams. Haslemere Singing Studio has an excellent track record of 100% pass rate and many distinctions and merits amongst our students. Exams are a good marker of progress and test all round musicianship as well providing useful UCAS points in the higher grades!

We also have a 100% track record of preparing students for entry into conservatoires, including Guildhall, Trinity, Birmingham Conservatoire, ArtsEd, Mountview Academy and Musical Theatre Academy.

Presentation Skills Coaching

As well as offering singing lessons Haslemere Singing Studio also provides professional coaching for businesses and individuals. Philip’s experiences as a director, actor and singer have given him a unique insight into the skills required to present yourself to an audience. These core skills are the same for business presentations as they are for musical theatre or opera.
